A key ingredient to our team building is our work environment. It is one that places a high value on individual judgment, training and accountability.
Because we respect the opinions, judgment and talents of all team members, attorneys, paralegals and legal secretaries work together on all aspects of representation.
The training program at Crone & Mason consists of a very deliberate mix of seminars, formal in-house training programs and continual teaching. Through this process, team members develop a sense of responsibility not only to our clients, but also to the group, making our team and even stronger force.
Attorneys are expected to manage all aspects of legal representation including strategizing, supervising, and conducting all pre-trial case preparation, acting as primary or secondary counsel, making court appearances, providing legal advice, arguing motions, completing trial preparation and trial work, leading negotiations in mediation, taking and defending depositions, drafting and negotiating settlements, drafting all necessary pleadings, performing legal research, and knowing and studying executive employment law and litigation procedure.
Paralegals serve as the center of our communication within the client and legal team and perform a diverse and ever-changing array of challenging assignments. Over time, paralegals develop unique abilities to contribute through advanced skills training, detailed systems descriptions, and individualized attention to career development. Whether a task is opening a file or assisting at deposition or trial, paralegals make a difference in quality of representation.
Legal Secretaries and other staff professionals assist the Attorneys and Paralegals with very important aspects of case management including filing, file organization, detailed note taking during conferences, photocopying, document analysis, indexing and management, word processing, document preparation, scheduling, specialized projects, courthouse filing, and closing files. As an integral part of the legal team, Legal Secretaries make very important contributions in many ways.
